So as to enrich students’ extracurricular cultural life and further enhance class cohesion and students’ physique, in the third class on the afternoon of 8th January, Anqing Foreign Language School held the New Year’s Tug-of-War Competition in Grade 7.
To begin with, this contest took each class as the unit. After drawing lots, the contest decided the ranking according to grouping cycles.
During the competition, each team demonstrated strong will, combatant spirit, style and skills. Also, contestants exerted the utmost effort, firmly grasped the rope, turned red in the face, went all out and fought for their respective team.
On the other hand, cheerleaders from each class dared to measure their strength by yelling for their teams. Therefore, there was power of youth everywhere in the competition terrain.
As the cheering sound fell, another laughter rose, which formed a quite lively atmosphere. In addition, the competition affected teachers’ heart. The school leadership, head teachers and subject teachers cheered for students in succession, which made teachers and students integrate together and seemed to press their hearts closer too.
In short, this tug-of-war contest not only built up students’ physique, further cultivated their spirits of solidarity, cooperation, endeavor and enterprise, but also increased the class cohesion. What’s more, each class deepened their friendship, which added a bright spot into the establishment of a harmonious campus.
